Run Balmoral (late April) A host of races and distances for all ages in the iconic surroundings of Balmoral Castle and grounds including 5km, 10km, 15 mile trail race and children’s distances. www.runbalmoral.com

Creag Choinnich Hill Race (Weds evening closest to the longest day in June) A short hill race, but packed with history. This is the oldest recorded hill race dating back to 1068 when King Canmore would use the race to select messengers! www.entrycentral.com/creag-choinnich
- Glenshee9 Hill Race Saturday 7th August 2021. British and Scottish championship race. The route takes in 9 Munro’s around Glenshee ski area. http://braemarscotland.co.uk/glenshee9
- Morrone Hill race (early Sept) A race to the cairns on Morrone during the Braemar Gathering. The highlight is the return into the Games arena in front of a cheering crowd of more than 10,000
