Country Fair and Highland Games come together in the grounds
of the Castle. Braemar Highland Fling will celebrate the
vibrancy of Highland life, past and present with activities
and events for all the family and music from the Cairngorms
Ceilidh Trail Summer Tour 2016.
In the arena, a Family Fun Dog show, the ever-popular terrier
racing and dog agility as well as children’s races. There will be
piping, highland and country dancing displays as well as a
chance to have a go with a Junior Caber and a lot of fun is
guaranteed with a bit of Haggis Hurling and welly wanging.
Snuffles the sheep, who has become a regular at the Castle’s
Jacobite events, will be getting sheared in the traditional way
and rescued owls and raptors from 2Wit2Woo at Huntly will also
be on show.
With Gun Dog Trial demonstrations, target fly casting and archery, traditional sport won’t be forgotten and there will also be a chance to test your knowledge in the Nature Trail Quiz.
In the Creative Village, traditional skills and more fun with willow weaving, crook making, and woodcarving as well as face painting and storytelling.
